MY FIRST PROTEST

We marched from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square, that was me, Roz, Thomas, Josh and about a hundred thousand others.

WHY?

To stop war and weapons.
We were marching for freedom and peace.

We sang.
We waved flags and banners.
We enjoyed our walk down the middle of the road without polluting it.

The amazing thing was that all the 100, 000 people all believed in the same thing and wanted to change the world.

I don't think its gonna stop here!

NO WAR

Peace Man!

the grey man

This was the second book I read with Roz. It was more "Humpty Dumpty" than "I am the music man". It wasn't scary enough. It was too grey. Chickenfeed was more exciting because you are always wanting to know whats happening next.

Now I am reading the Ice-creamatarion.

Giving Blood - Part 2
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Today Myself and Roz went to Canary Wharf to GIVE BLOOD! Roz took us to the wrong place because they transferred it to a different place in Canary Wharf . Never mind, I found the way!

We went in there, got a number - 42 and a form. I filled it out with Roz and then I was called to register. They asked me some more questions and then they stabbed me! Nah not really, they tested my blood by pricking my finger to get a drop of blood to see if I had enough iron - sorry Roz (Roz was low in iron and was told she couldn't give blood for the very first time).

Then I sat to wait for them to call me to give blood and Keeley, Jim and their friends came. Keeley, Jim and one of their friends Asti signed up to give blood...we were all scared because we didn't know what was going to happen.

My name was called: Craig Roast! I started to breathe quickly. I wanted to run but I didn't - Roz wouldn't let me! Then I lay down and looked up through the big glass roof at the blue sky while I opened and closed my hand to pump the blood and Roz read the book The Grey Man out loud to me and chatted to me.

While I was doing it I wasn't scared - I was happy cos I knew I might be helping people. After, I got up and did some cartwheels. Nah, not reallym thinking about it was making dizzy! I sat down for a bit and got a drink and crisps and a sticker saying BE NICE TO ME I'VE GIVEN BLOOD!

Jim was next and I sat with him while he was giving blood and Roz sat with Keeley. Then we went away and packed for a weekend away to become Peer-educators in First Aid. If you want more information on that, please check up on my next post on Nutty But Helful. Remember Give Blood - Come with us next time (end of May).

My First Guitar

Before Christmas I was learning how to play the guitar with Wendy and the rest of the SAD group (you know who you are - you SAD people). Then I thought to myself...what a wonderful world...no forget that...what I really thought was - I needed a guitar so I could practice at home and so there would be enough guitars for everyone.

So I was looking through a catalogue to see what I could get for Christmas for my Nan and I saw it...the guitar I wanted. But it was sold out. I was really disappointed.

Christmas came and still no guitar.

A couple of days after Christmas a big box came. I thought to myself: Whats that? My mum opened it and there was another triangular box inside, then I knew what it was. She surprised me with a new, even better guitar than I had seen in the catalogue. Then I started practising.

I can play the chords A, D & E but I still need to practice changing chords and strumming. The SAD group is practicing as well. The only funny problem I have when I play is that my dog is afraid of the guitar and he runs off and hides. Maybe I need to practice some more...or is it just the sound and not my playing? I think its the sound. What do you think?

Finally finished Chickenfeed

On the 17th of November I got the book out of Tower Hamlets College library. I was a bit nervous because I thought I couldn't read long books. Then someone introduced me to Quick Reads and I chose Chicken feed because I read the blurb at the back of the book and I found it more interesting than the rest. I started to read a book beause I wanted to learn more.

Chicken feed was the NO.1 bestseller from Minette Walters. It is based on a true story of the' chicken farm murder', which took place at Blackness, Crowborough, East Sussex in December 1924.

I read ChickenFeed with Roz, we took turns reading and I read some in my own time. I liked working on the book because some of the book was mysterious. We didn't know what was going to happen next. We tried to work out what was going to happen and 'whodunnit'.
We finished the book on 16th of January. It was a good book' if you would like to read it you can borrow it from club.

Now we are starting on a new book, The Grey Man.

Thanks Roz

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Today I went to Canary Wharf to keep my New Year's Resolution, to give blood. But there was a little problem - there was supposed to be a group of us but everyone couldn't, even me and I was there. Thomas could have given blood but he was too young (not 17 yet) and Roz and myself weren't able to do it because they don't allow ill people even when they are the right age.

So the 26th is going to be Part 2. All welcome to give blood if you're 17 or over and healthy (sorry Thomas). Its at Canary Wharf until 4pm on the 26th of January 2007. Why don't you make a difference and come and save a life!

Friends

Before college I was in the same class with the same people for 5 years. I got on well with some people and made good friends with them through the 5 years. I left school July 2005, I was a bit scared because in September I was starting college and would only know one person.

I started college, there were 13 people and I was the only male on the course! At first I was a bit nervous because I was worried about making new friends. Slowly I started talking to all of them then the Craig you all know came out

looking back to last year I have made friends with almost everyone. Now some of them have moved onto a new course. Same of them I will see again for the second year of child care and I can't wait to make more new friends.
